Hunter Global Dinner

This dinner will be hosted by the Hunter JO as part of the Hunter Global Summit, focusing on the future of the Hunter region and its international opportunities

We will be welcoming Steven Koukoulas as our keynote speaker.

Stephen Koukoulas is one of Australia’s leading economic visionaries, with a background covering the spectrum of economic insight.

He is the past Chief Economist of Citibank, headed global research and strategy for TD Securities in London, and was Senior Economic Advisor to former Prime Minister, Julia Gillard. Stephen is the Managing Director of Market Economics, providing independent and tailored macroeconomic analysis for business clients.

Hunter Global Summit

In just two years, the Hunter will host an international airport offering a once-in-a-generation opportunity for the region’s growth and diversification. Hunter Global: Our international future is a region-wide initiative led by local government through the Hunter Joint Organisation, to boost collaboration, planning and advocacy to capitalise on the runway upgrade.

In May 2021, the Federal Government announced the support of $66 million to upgrade the runway to Code E status. The runway is due for completion in 2023.

The Hunter JO will host a whole-of-region summit to test and refine the priorities identified through the roundtable and plan the way forward.

Through the summit, participants from business, government and community sectors will co-design the development of pathways and mechanisms to leverage the new international air traffic possibilities, determine future needs to help drive demand to the airport and attract further public and private investment.

The cancellation policy for the Hunter Global Summit dinner is as follows:

- Ticket costs will be refunded if the event is cancelled due to Covid-related issues

- Tickets will be transferred to a rescheduled date if the event is postponed due to Covid-related issues

- If you have cold or flu-like symptoms we ask you not to attend. We encourage you to transfer your ticket to someone else. If you cannot transfer your ticket, a refund will be provided.
